The epitome of art deco style and flair, this small bathroom punches
above its weight for use of space and clever design
The Elizabeth Bay bathroom renovation was a challenge from the start. Located in an art deco apartment building, it was vital the delivery of building materials, fittings and fixtures be managed to perfection. Access to the building was restricted with the original lifts and narrow stairways still in use.
The design of the new space combined the old, stand-alone toilet room with the rest of the bathroom to create an L-shaped layout, requiring the removal of walls and the addition of new supporting structures. An intricate mosaic tile feature floor sets the tone for the bathroom and it required minute attention to detail to ensure it packed the visual oomph required.
