A tranquil, pebbled floor reflects water in a creek bed

Pymble Bathroom Renovation #3

With its stunning pebble floor, this ensuite reflects the tranquillity of water trickling through a creek bed

This Pymble ensuite, designed exclusively for use by the man of the house, started life with the vision of a pebbled floor that would represent water trickling through a creek bed. The bathroom renovation was easy to design but the challenge was in laying the pebble tiles to ensure they would not only create the look that was wanted but also that the water would flow correctly towards the grate.

If this had not been achieved properly, water would pool in between the pebbles and not drain away, creating damp and mold. As an additional deterrent, the underfloor heating was taken right into the shower enclosure with the warmth of the floor helping to evaporate any remaining water droplets. With its simple colour scheme of neutral tones, the bathroom reflects the calming nature of the outdoors which is enjoyed by the client every morning.
