Earlier this year, Brindabella Home Improvements took part in the inaugural Green Interior Awards with a bathroom project entered into the residential category. With today’s focus on sustainability and environmentally-friendly design, we decided to support this new awards program which we feel is an important step towards responsible and sustainable design.

The project entered featured a recycled, timber mosaic tile which had been constructed from reclaimed boats and is a great example of re-use and re-purposing a product to give it a new lease on life. Used in both the main bathroom and adjoining powder room, the timber mosaic tiles work perfectly with the neutral colour scheme and add a much-needed textural element that adds to the visual ambience within the bathroom.

Bathroom renovation SydneyAlthough the project wasn’t chosen on the night, our representatives – John and Raelene Spiteri – enjoyed meeting a number of like-minded design professionals across many industry categories as well as the opportunity to chat to the judges and other entrants. Planning has already begun for the 2015 awards and we are busy preparing the next round of award entries. See full project details.
